Men in Pants!

Image
At work yesterday, I was astonished to see pictures like this hanging on the classroom wall. There were three of them, cut out of a magazine. There were eight young women and two young men in the classroom - 17/18 year olds. Now, look at the images below, and imagine them on the wall of a classroom of eight young men and two young women. Here's a talk by Ann Marie Slaughter on humanism vs. feminism.

The Story of a Dishwasher

Image
This is the translation of a story from a Norwegian blogger,  Bjørn Olavs Blog . The original can be read  here . "Something different happened when I decided to sell our dishwasher on finn.no (the local selling website).   My wife and I have arrived at that age of carrying out home improvements - whether you want to or not. I don’t want to, but I have to, mostly because my wife wants to. So, we’ve built a new kitchen with the consequence that a fine, four year old dishwasher is no longer applicable. You do not waste money. Then came a text message: Can I have your dishwasher for 1000 kroner? Regards Wizam. We’ll see, said the Sunnmøre half of me. But since no one else showed any interest in the ad, I thought, let's ge

Pancake Day Gluten Free (Not Guilt Free!) Banana Pancakes

Image
After over a month without wheat, of any kind of wheat substitute (nor any junk or dairy!!!), today I just had to have pancakes! I bought a packet of this... I used about half the packet, added a pinch of salt a spoon of vanilla sugar, a spoon of dark brown sugar ( farin ) and about 20g of melted butter. I also added about half a spoon of ground nutmeg and enough water to form a decent batter. I added about a spoon of baking powder, but that was a bit too much - half would do. Plus, one over-ripe mashed banana! I then let it stand at room temperature for about a couple of hours (not sure exactly how long - I was playing JewelStar, so I lost track of time). Heat a pan and away you go! This amount made 5 good size pancakes. Thanks to my cousin Julie for the inspiration! X
